e-Governance
aims at transparent, smart with seamless access,
secure and authentic flow of information crossing
the inter-departmental barriers and providing
a fair and unbiased service to the citizens.
Government of India has launched a major initiative
in the form of the National e-Governance Plan
(NeGP) costing over Rs.25,000 crores for implementing
major programs at National and State level.
It is an honour for me to be the Convener
of these prestigious e-Governance awards this
year. Based on experiences of last year, significant
care is being taken to ensure participation
of all good projects in the country and an
evaluation process based on a defined framework
ensuring transparency in the evaluation process.
It is important to mention that any e-Government
project can be assessed on various dimensions
of the participating stakeholders. However,
for the purpose of this award, assessment
is being done on select indicators which have
been considered crucial for the success of
the initiative. In addition to the Best e-Governed
State Award, this time we have also decided
to award Best e-Governed Department Award. |
| On behalf of CSI, Nihilent
and on my personal behalf, I request you to
participate in this important event and share
in the vision of making citizen centric facilities
available to everyone in the country. |
